Sometimes, we are driven by reasons that link the professional yearnings with the motivations born from the heart. An exhibition that celebrates the 35th anniversary of the Casa del Caribe (Caribbean House), was the scenario for this special bond to be manifested among the Cuban and Belgian delegations participating in the First PhD Scientific Workshop.
In the “Arte Soy” Art Gallery, the participants learned details of the local artistic movement from a sample of photographs, paintings and installations of several representatives of the visual arts in the city.
For more than two hours, the young researchers shared their professional and personal experiences during their research stays in Belgian universities and laboratories, as well as their impressions regarding the intense cultural exchange and the challenge of communicating science in English.
In the framework of this Workshop, sponsored by the Universidad de Oriente and the Flemish Interuniversity Council, other social activities are planned in order to promote knowledge and recognition of all science areas participating in the VLIR-IUC Programme.
