Dr. Hipólito Carvajal, academic leader on the Cuban side expressed that, “it is a very important moment for PhD students and the program in general because the aim is to exchange academic and scientific experiences between Cuban and Belgian researchers. For example, in the workshop Environmental researches and clean technologies, we announce the participation of significant personalities and companies from the eastern region of Cuba, such as the Laboratorio Farmacéutico Oriente, the Clínico Quirúrgico Juan Bruno Zayas Hospital and the Saturnino Lora Provincial Hospital, the Solar Energy Center, among others".
The agenda of this Scientific Workshop also includes a day with a wide spectrum of cultural activities in the context of the week of the Belgian culture, which will be celebrated in Havana
(6-11 November 2017). All actions are aimed at strengthening the cooperation between all VLIR-funded projects in Cuba and increasing the quality of the doctoral training process and its relevance and social impact in Cuba.
